Four Lakes Loft Manager — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the Four Lakes Loft Manager mobile app (iOS and Android), published by Masofi Studios. It does not cover any other content on fourlakeslofts.com.

Information We Collect

When you use Four Lakes Loft Manager, we collect:

  • Account information: your email address, and your loft name if you choose to set one.
  • Bird and racing records: information you enter about your birds (ring numbers, names, sex, colour, strain, compartment, pedigree links), race results, pairings, health check history, and loft diary entries.
  • Photos: photos you take or upload of bird ring numbers, bird health (droppings, eyes, feathers), pedigree documents, and bird profile pictures.
  • Location: your loft's coordinates, if you choose to set them, used to calculate race distances and show local weather.
  • Voice input: if you use voice commands or the loft assistant's voice mode, your spoken audio is processed to convert it to text.
  • Usage data: standard technical data such as device type and app crash reports, used to keep the app working correctly.

How We Use Third-Party AI Services

Four Lakes Loft Manager uses OpenAI's API to power several AI features. The following data is sent to OpenAI for processing:

  • Ring number scanning: photos of a pigeon's leg ring, sent to OpenAI to read and record the ring number automatically.
  • Health check analysis: photos of droppings, eyes, or feathers, sent to OpenAI to provide a preliminary health assessment. This is not a substitute for veterinary advice.
  • Pedigree scanning: photos of pedigree documents, sent to OpenAI to extract pedigree information.
  • Loft assistant: questions you ask the in-app assistant, along with relevant bird and race data needed to answer your question, sent to OpenAI to generate a response.
  • Pairing analysis: information about two birds you're considering pairing, sent to OpenAI to generate breeding recommendations.
  • Race report captions: race result data, sent to OpenAI to help generate a written summary or caption.

OpenAI processes this data solely to return a result to the app and does not use it to train its models, in line with OpenAI's API data usage policy. We do not send your account email, password, or payment information to OpenAI.

OpenAI is the only third-party AI service we share your data with.

Other Third-Party Services

We also use the following services to operate the app:

  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions) — to store your account and app data securely, and to run the AI features described above.
  • RevenueCat — to manage subscription purchases. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription status information but not your app content.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — to process subscription payments. We do not receive or store your payment card details; these are handled entirely by Apple or Google.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account within the app. This removes your bird records, race history, photos, and account information from our systems. This is a permanent action and cannot be undone.

Your Choices

  • You can decline to use AI-powered features; the app's core record-keeping functions do not require them.
  • You can revoke camera, photo library, location, and microphone permissions at any time through your device's Settings.
  • You can request a copy of your data or ask questions about this policy by contacting us (see below).

Children's Privacy

Four Lakes Loft Manager is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
